Each night, when I go to sleep, I die. And the next morning, when I wake up, I am reborn. - Mahatma Gandhi

Good bye 2008

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

To a great year! Toast. This year has been a lot of first for me. First time I got drunk among other things. I met a lot of people and got to bond with some pretty awesome people. So thank you. For the people who changed my life.

On the other hand, I’ve been trying to start on my New Year’s resolution so I can get the hang of it. I’ve been a vegetarian for two days now. I’m not strict, mind you. Most vegetarians will not eat the food if it’s tainted with the essence of meat. But I won’t do that ;D If I accidentally get a few meat in my mouth, I will not be spitting the food out — it’ll go to waste. Same banana. I’ll just eat it.

Among my other resolutions would be to…

  • … sleep at 11 every night. Or at least try to. And then wake up at 5 or 5:30 everyday (I have a 7am class everyday. So better get cracking).
  • … never be late. I will arrive 5 minutes before the time.
  • … spend less. I’ll only spend on the necessary things. Meaning, I’ll go out less.
  • … cussing less (cause I’m bound to let out the occasional expletive. I.e. when my foot gets stepped on)
  • … never get wasted ever again. We gotta learn how to hold our alcohol!
  • … read 100 books (comics, novels, short stories…)
  • … control my temper (as suggested by my sister)

Any other suggestions? :]

New love

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

New year = new stuff. Nah. Not really. More like Christmas.

I thank Jeff and Tin for giving us these chocolates. Yay.

I thought that it was just going to be the normal regular chocolate.

Looks regular enough.

And then I opened it — you will not get your hands dirty. They’re so considerate!

122720082878

And then there’s a creamy filling. I died. It was that good.

My BWL Week 1 Exp

Monday, December 29, 2008

Actually, it’s not really a week 1 kind of thing. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks. It’s absolutely awesome how I get to have a landline everywhere. This Bayantel Wireless Landline comes in handy when I’m out with friends and they have to call home. Helps with the popularity. Plus, saves bills.

Maybe I should start charging? No?

I will write more about it when I’ve had my thoughts collected. Or maybe you can watch out for it in Week 2.

I’m actually quite interested in how Hannah fares with hers. I think her mom held her BWL captive. Hannah’s complaining how her mom hogs it all the time (I actually have the same experience sometimes).

My cousin, the would-be director!

Saturday, December 27, 2008

So there I was, muling over my existence, when my favorite male cousin messages me on Windows Live.

Tiff, good news ^^ but don’t tell any cousins yet

I was curious.

This short film that me and my friends did got nominated in a national short film contest ^^ got nominated for best film (20/245), best director (8/245), and best actress (3/245)

I was supposed to ask him what the numbes meant but I was too excited. I clicked the links he gave me. Here and here. There’s the first part and the second part. It has English subtitles so YAY FOR ME!

And I couldn’t help taking screen caps!

Picture 1

Even my other cousin’s involved (as an extra). YAY.

These aren’t my only Christmas gifts, mind you.

I didn’t ask for this but it’s Hello Kitty.
And my birthstone.

122120082755

Dangling earrings.

A ballpen and a notebook.
I hate that he has the most awesome handwriting I’ve seen.

Blessing in Disguise

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Remember the evil person that stepped on my toe yesterday? Well. Thank you. Because apparently, after that hematoma, the new nail has been growing. So it’s 1/3 on its way now. So the nail had to go anyway. And, because I visited the hospital today, Aunts of mine who had their check up gave me MONEY! YAY! :>

Let’s count down to Christmas, everyone!

Ogie Sings with the Stars

So I was minding my own business last Dec 20. When Bong suddenly YMs me a link. I asked if it was today and whether he was going. He told me he was considering it but that it was too far from him. Long story short, he ended up not going and I was lucky enough to go! YAY.

I really liked Menaya’s set. Although I was able to buy their album! Maybe next time, huh? Vocalist was kinda cute, too ;D

Plus, Michael Alba was their percussionist.

Never mind that I heard Ramiele Malubay speak (horrible, ain’t it) — I just want her to sing. I never want to hear her say anything. D:

The most horrible experience I’ve had this month

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

Dear Mr. White-shirt guy,

You stepped on my toe. The same toe that turned black a couple of months ago. That, after having it checked out, I found out developed hematoma because some chick on the MRT stepped on my toe months before you did. That because my toe BLED (I had my period that time, I bleed more easily, my doctor told me), the toe nail partially lifted from the toe and then blood caked, turning my toe “black.” So now I’m taking care of my toe and dear orgmate HARRELL stepped on it last week. This was highly unfortunate but he wasn’t bothered. Just muttered a sorry and went on with what he was doing even though I was clearly in pain (Bong was nice enough to care).

Fastforward to yesterday where a friend of mine stepped on my foot FOUR TIMES yesterday — one of the times that she did… Well, it landed on that one toe. Now it’s all fine because all this did not cause my toe to be the way it is now. PARTIALLY DETACHED FROM THE NAIL BED.

FUCK YOU. You turned around and whispered a sorry. I WAS FREAKING OUT AND THE LADY BEHIND ME NOTICED MY TOE. AND THE FUCKING LADY GUARD CHECKING THE BAGS JUST ASKED, “Naapakan paa mo?” DID YOU ALL NOT NOTICE THAT MY TOE NAIL WAS BY THEN CROOKED

Did you know that after that, I was hysterically crying because I’m scared of injury? (IT’S A FEAR OF MINE. I’M SCARED OF INJURIES AND BLOOD. GOD KNOWS HOW MANY ASK ME, “You’re going to be a doctor, right?”) And then I left the MRT cause I saw the sardine can that is the train? And I’m scared of having people step on it AGAIN?

So! Dear Mr. White-shirt guy. I will curse you. Like I did all the way home riding the cab. I’ve been crying and having hysterics. God knows how much I made my mom panic — calling her up every few minutes to ask where she is.

I will curse you till this very same thing happens to you! ARGH!

DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

DON’T PEOPLE LOOK WHERE THEY STEP NOWADAYS??!?! Am I supposed to have the gift of premonition that will tell me that you will step on my toe OUT OF NOWHERE? Do you not see the rest of my body? IF YOU KNOW I’M BESIDE YOU, THEN MY FOOT IS PROBABLY ATTACHED TO MY BODY. FUCKING HELL!!!!!!!!

Yours,

Hysterical Tiffy

Manila Film Festival Movies: I want to watch!

Sunday, December 21, 2008

Ranking the MMF movies from the one that I really wanna watch, down to the least wanted one!

Escaleras and Ungasis: 20 Years After

No, seriously.

Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat

I love Ai-Ai. I watched one of her concerts and BOY can that woman dance. I’m thinking she can beat a lot of kids my age (YES I’M A KID) in a snap. Or maybe I’m just exaggerating. But really. I love her.

Desperadas 2

Last year, I watched Desperadas with my sister a couple of days after my parents watched it. My dad didn’t want us to watch it cause it was too mindless for him and it was mostly about sexuality blah. (My dad cannot comprehend Filipino all that well but he understood the movie fine — mindless.) So… What say you, sister?

Dayo

I’m not exactly big on cartoons but this is quite the effort. The Philippines isn’t exactly known for its animated films, is it?

Shake, Rattle and Roll 10

I’ve watched Shake, Rattle and Roll as a kid. I’ve been scared shitless watching this at an age when I couldn’t have known better. So… bad special effects and photoshop-ing will not stop me from watching this one. But an empty wallet might.

One Night Only

I didn’t enjoy the trailer. It seemed like it had too simple a plot to seriously enjoy.

Baler

I’m not a huge fan of Jericho Rosales. Nuff said. Although it is a love story. But then I don’t want anything tragic for my Christmas, thank you very much. Although I am interested in watching something about our country’s past. I’m thinking that if Bong has a say in this, this will be part of the top half in his list or something!

Magkaibigan

Err. What’s this about again? A friendship between a bunch of people I don’t really know.

We interrupt our program with letters

Dear officemates,

Please upload the pictures during the Christmas party cause I wanna steal from you guys.

I have only seen Jaz’s album. I wanna see the rest!

Yours,

Tiffy

Dear future father of my spawn,

Please save money. For when I’m about to give birth, I want you to take me to Hau Sheng Hospital’s 30-bed Hello Kitty paradise. It’s located in Yuanlin in central Taiwan. I don’t care how much it will cost you but I want my baby to be born there — even if the baby’s a “he.”

Yours,

Tiffy
