Book Contest

Sunday, January 4, 2009

There’s this book contest happening at cigarette-girl’s site.

We all know I love reading books. So meh.

Fairy Tales Mother Never Told You by Benjamin Eakin

Why?

Because my mom never told me any fairy tales. So maybe I’ll have to make do with those that she never told me.

My mom, however, taught me the importance of books. She taught us to love them at such an early age — telling us that she would give us anything in return if we finish one book (she bought tons for us).

So I be reading Wuthering Heights when I was Grade 4 or something. I didn’t exactly understand what it was about but meh.

Oh. and I tried Googling it and found this:

Eagin, Benjamin, 1952 - . Fairy Tales Mother Never Told You - gay male fairy tales

See? Awesome book already!

P.S. If ever, can I have Life of Pi by Yann Martel instead? We have a friend nicknamed Pi and I’m sorta interested with her life. Thanks 8D

Okay. I’ve been bugging people to watch this movie with me. And finally, the bugging got to my mom! YAY! Our main reason for going to RP Midtown was supposed to be because we were supposed to have our cellphones unlocked.
But since the technician told us that it costs Php1,800 to unlock a Nokia N82 — I changed my mind.
I’d rather buy a cheap ass phone for the same price!

So anyway.
Comments.

1. Ana the manananggal — I wanted to slap her silly. We don’t talk like that! The textsp33k, conyo whatever. “Here na me,” “pa naman,” etc. Nyaaaaa. But yeah. I get that’s it’s for comic relief. So fine.
2. Narsi, the narcissistic tikbalang — Love him. LOL. Although I have to admit. I’m scared as hell of big horses that look like monsters. Seriously.
3. Ads everywhere. Mister Donuts. Froo-something. Timezone. SM Mall of Asia. It’s just… WOW. But I do hope the movie earns. Cause…
4. … the animation is not bad. I mean… It could be better. But it’s not bad. My head didn’t hurt as much as it did when I watched Desperadas. And…
5. … I hated the flow of the movie. It’s not right. The characterization and the total flow of the story totally sucked.

Although! I really enjoyed watching the trailers. I wanna watch Dragonball Evolution and something about this kid’s soul being promised to the devil. And then the Zac Efron movie thing where Chandler (from Friends) also stars in! :]
Teehee. I love movie watching.

I didn’t feel like I wasted my money on Dayo cause I know that the other movies sucked more than this one did. Hmph.
Please tell me I’m right? :c

The Day After Christmas

December 26, 2008

My first awesome jumping shot taken by Karla

I went to Tagaytay with fellow bloggers. First, we met in Starbucks Magallanes as our redezvous point. We then proceeded to Mano’s for lunch. It’s this Greek place in Tagaytay. The food is a bit pricey (not too pricey — just more than average) but definitely worth a try. And then there was Taal Vista, and Leslie’s (which sucked because they made us wait an hour before they told us that our order of bulalo (just bulalo for the lot of us) will take 45 more minutes. The table behind us, arrived later than we did, but got their order of bulalo first.), and then for dinner, Kanin Club in Sta. Rosa.

There’s going to be a Kanin Club in TechnoHub. Take me there some day?

Twas my sister’s birthday. So I texted people inviting them to my sister’s SURPRISE birthday party. Surprises have been thwarted for Thea’s birthay. One of her bestfriends YMed people asking them to write a birthday message for Thea. And one of the people she sent the message to accidentally forwarded it to Thea.

And then, on the day of Thea’s birthday, I was texting people to greet her and I accidentally sent it to her as well XD Oops.

So the day’s for friends and family.

Everyone gets a BIG slice of cake. And when I say big, I mean BIG. Chiara could barely finish hers.

And then, we all went to SM San Lazaro for a while to play a couple of games of DotA. Tee hee.

Relatives passed by at night.
