I’ve been putting off blogging here because it disgusted me to see my old posts. I want to start anew. But at the same time — that’s always what I’ve been doing. So I guess I just need to keep on blogging to bury old not-so-pleasing-to-the-eyes entries of mine.
We haven’t had any classes for five days now. It’s all because of the swine flu scare. I don’t get it. Back in the Philippines, there have been cases of swine flu and yet they didn’t really suspend classes for a week. Same as in Singapore where my friend’s a teacher — they have TONS of cases and yet they didn’t really suspend classes.
At this point, I think I’m supposed to wear the face mask that my dormitory gave me to wear. I wore it. For a day, maybe. It’s just silly.
why are you disgusted to see your old post, tiffy?
Posted by tings at July 4, 2009, 4:11 pmTings: Because my old posts bore me. Hahaha. I should start posting pictures as well!
Well, if the spread is very bad, then your school SHOULD close. But if it’s only a couple of cases, I don’t think it should be closed :c But that may just be me.
Posted by tiffy at July 5, 2009, 6:52 pmWell, some schools here did get closed down when the swine flu hysteria started. Yay for overreaction.

Most people are afraid of it because of the initial scare that swine flu is a lot more serious than seasonal flu - well, that’s what were told, right? To declare our travel history, family members’ travel history, blablabla. We never had to do those stuff with seasonal flu. As the spread continued within the community and the number of infected continued to rise, everyone started panicking even more and guess what? The health ministry said that we should not panick and that it is most of the time, as mild as seasonal flu. My school had a lot of problem addressing this issue. We are the no.1 cluster spreading community in sg. Students, and parents of students have wrote in and petitioned for the school to be closed down for a while, but advice from ministry, not to do that. As the rest of sg continues to count the no. of infected, we continue to suffer from bad press because so many people do not see it.
