Couple of the bosses keep telling me to make my voice louder. Well, I was shy! I’m new and I’m still trying to figure out how to do stuff. My greatest handicap would have to be the fact that I can’t speak Japanese well. I can barely understand people. Rawr. Now this might motivate me to study more! Yay!
Worked from 4-9pm today. And then after, the boss gave us all take home sushi which we ate in the employees’ lounge area near the sushi place.
So yeah — that’s what the picture meant. That:
1. I got a job at a sushi place and so I had to dye my hair black again and remove my earrings before work.
2. I bought two Japanese books — a Japanese version of The Alchemist, and this one book titled The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. I don’t know when I’ll be able to read it though! :s
3. My room’s a mess and I can’t sleep before 3am. Ugh.

I can’t sleep again. The only night that I don’t want to sleep until 5 in the morning and I can’t! Darn. Anyway, I got the glass from the glassblowing exp the other day.

Lookie how pretty.

I think my favorite color’s starting to change.
Purple, wanna be my new favorite color?
And Eyobe’s back from Canada too! I went to welcome him home and give him back his keys. You know what that means right? I got my peanut butter!!!! (And maple syrup.) I asked him to help me buy maple syrup so I can give Kenji some. Thanks Eyobe.
Maple candy is weird. Kinda like sugar. Liquified sugar that you hardened. But in a weird way. It’s not really unpleasant — it’s just weird.
Which reminds me, I need to hit a bookstore some time before Sunday. I’m going to be teaching this guy business English twice a week. I wonder how that’ll go.

So I had dinner with the other exchange students at the lounge. Lin cooked and everything. I’m not exactly sure what the stuff are called but then right before eating, I nagged Lin about cooking faster. Well, not so much as being able to eat at once but more the fact that I wanted to use what little Japanese I know. Guess I better trying to be cute.
The food was okay. I ate ketchup rice and everything. I even bought people ice candy bars and orange juice. Btw, did you know that a prawn — a piece of prawn — costs ¥98? Ouch.
Lesson learned: don’t hang out with people you don’t really want to hang out with. But that’s gonna be weird cause lately — I don’t want to hang out with anyone. Everything just annoys me silly. And as much as I shouldn’t mind, I just can’t will the bitter taste in my mouth away.

So I’ve only read around 20 odd books when I was aiming for 50! And more than half of the year has passed. I’m currently reading To Kill a Mockingbird right now. I’m just so glad that I finally started appreciating how much time I have in my hands. I’ve nearly rewatched all the Gilmore Girls episode.
P.S. At least one part of my room looks decent.
Normally, the fireworks look like this:
But sometimes, they let boom something like this:
Awesome, ain’t it?
I forgot to bring my N82 to take pictures.
So you guys will have to make do with my Samsung 2.0MP phone :c

Let’s see. Watched City of God, read a bit of manga — Shinobi Life, Maid sama, and then read some friends’ blogs.
I’m just glad that I get to waste a couple of days sometimes. Tomorrow, I start being serious again :]
Hey friends, I miss you. Maybe I’m feeling differently than before because I’m not around them. You know what I mean?
We had an earthquake here at around 5 in the morning. Magnitude was 4, I heard. It was 6.6 in Shizuoka. Anyway, I was supposed to meet with Arvi and Jeremy at 8:30 at Kanayama Station cause he’s going back to Canada. I got there at 8:20 and they got to the station at 9:20. Pfft. So I left Kanayama Station at around 9:21 to meet with Kenji at around 9:30. I got there at around 9:40. (The Japanese are particular about their time, trust me.)
I got to try out glass blowing. I tried it out with Kenji and his family (except Reiko and Yuuka — Yuuka got scared). Making a cup costs ¥3,200. Nyaa. And then we had lunch at the Sakae TV Tower. A ¥3,000 lunch set. Nyaaaa. I feel so indebted to them. Although I did tell him that I would show them around if they ever come to the Philippines.
And then I went to my interview. This interview was so much better than yesterday’s. I was 30 min early for this interview and the guy who interviewed me was the same age as I. And he was perpetually smiling. I liked the interview. He seemed really nice! Although he told me that I have to wait until Sunday to find out if I’m going to get hired.
I was 1-2 minutes late for my interview this morning. Which was really disappointing cause I planned it all out. Nagoya Station is just too far from Hirabari Station :c I miscalculated the time. Oh well.
The lady sounded as if she’s done one too many interviews. Which basically sucks. Plus, I was sweating so bad cause I ran all the way from the station.
Anyway, to make myself feel better (because I really felt bad), I bought a necklace, a pair of high-heeled boots, and a couple of shirts. So all in all I spent around ¥3500 today. The pair of boots cost me ¥1990 — that’s pretty cheap. And the shirts were on an 80% discount. It was their summer sale! Yay.
And because I spent so much, I didn’t go to yakiniku — that would cost me ¥2800.
Oh! And I donated blood for the fifth time (first time here in Japan). And let me tell you — their blood donation centers are WAY COOL. You can drink and eat as much as you want. Hee. Plus, they have books and a television in their lounge.
I got a card too! And it tells me when I can donate next. And then a point card.
